Yes a little bit. The crank pulley is hollow and fits over the top of the existing. This makes it stick forward by about 1/4". You need to have a couple of inches in front of the engine to be able to get it on. If you get any alternator larger than 170 amps it is going to stick out at the side of the engine a bit further than the original did, so again you need a couple of inches of room to prevent the alternator hitting the side of the engine room as the engine vibrates.
